our mission and vision at RBLS

Mission:

At Root & Branch Learning Studio, we support middle and high school students who need more than the traditional classroom can provide, helping them build academic and executive function skills in a structured, supportive environment.

Vision:

We envision students who once felt overwhelmed or overlooked growing into confident, capable learners who understand how to learn and believe in their ability to succeed.

Academic and Executive Function Support

root & branch learning studio offers personalized academic support and executive function coaching for middle and high school students.

Through small-group sessions, students strengthen reading and writing skills while developing organization, planning, and study strategies. Support is designed to help students build confidence in their ability to succeed.

Why Academic Support?

Academic support at root & branch focuses on helping students strengthen core skills in reading, writing, and overall comprehension. Sessions are tailored to each student’s needs, with an emphasis on building understanding, improving written expression, and applying skills in meaningful ways. The goal is not just completing assignments or working toward closing academic gaps, but developing the skills needed for long-term academic success.

What is Executive Function?

Executive function refers to the myriad skills students use to manage their time, stay organized, and approach their work effectively. This includes planning, task initiation, organization, and follow-through. Support in this area helps students strengthen workload management, reduce overwhelm, and develop greater independence and confidence.

How can small group sessions help?

Small group sessions provide a structured, supportive environment where students can build both academic skills and executive function strategies. With a low student-to-teacher ratio, students receive individualized attention while also benefiting from peer interaction, accountability, and shared learning. This setting helps students stay engaged, build confidence, and develop independence over time.

Through root & branch learning studio’sSummer Bridge” sessions, students have the opportunity to build these skills in a consistent, supportive environment while preparing for the upcoming school year.

our work

root & branch learning studio is designed for students who need more than traditional tutoring.

As we work, we focus on the “roots” (strategy and foundational skills) and the “branches” (confidence, independence, and growth). Through small-group instruction and executive function coaching, middle and high school students learn how to manage their work, think more clearly, and engage with learning in a more meaningful way.

This is a space where students are supported, challenged, and given the tools to grow.

The studio reflects that experience—creating a learning environment that is both structured and supportive. Students develop helpful strategies for learning, and build confidence in their skillset, whether academic or practical.
